North Korea conducted tests of "strategic cruise missiles" in the Yellow Sea, the official North Korean agency reported on Friday. The aim of these tests, as noted by the agency, was to demonstrate the "nuclear deterrent" of the country. Kim Chen In stated in a released statement about the mission conducted with cruise missiles that this would allow to prove the "reliability and operability of nuclear deterrence and demonstrate its power."
The leader of North Korea personally attended the tests, which aimed to warn enemies about the "ability of Pyongyang to deliver a retaliatory strike at any point" and to inform them about the "preparedness of various means of the country for nuclear operations."
