North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, during a speech before the Army, has accused the West of provoking and fueling the war in Ukraine to expand its military interventionism worldwide. In his address on Friday in Pyongyang, he stated that the war in Ukraine, where the U.S. and the West send troops, is a way to increase their practical experience and extend their global military influence.
Kim criticized the stance of the United States and its allies in providing military support to Ukraine and Israel, which, according to him, drags more countries into the conflict and generates growing concern about a potential third world war. However, he did not mention the sending of 10,000 North Korean soldiers to the Russian region of Kursk to support Moscow's offensive in Kyiv, an action that has not yet been officially communicated by the regime.
Additionally, Kim Jong-un pointed out that South Korea, Japan, and the United States are forming a military alliance in the Asia-Pacific resembling an "Asian NATO," which, according to him, poses a direct threat to North Korea. The North Korean leader emphasized the importance of strengthening national defense and remaining prepared for any conflict that may arise.
In his speech, Kim stressed the need to strengthen the country's self-defense capabilities, focusing on the development of nuclear weapons. For him, preparation for war remains the most vital task for the Armed Forces of North Korea amid an environment marked by the increasing military presence of the West in various regions of the world.
