On Thursday, North Korea announced that South Korea had launched several short-range missiles beyond its eastern coast. South Korea reported that it maintains communication with the USA and Japan for information exchange on the launch. UN Security Council resolutions prohibit North Korea from developing ballistic missile programs, but Pyongyang continues to make progress in developing missiles of various ranges.
The army reported that the missiles were launched from the Wonsan area on the east coast of North Korea around 8:10 AM local time. In March, North Korea launched several ballistic missiles.
