Seoul, (Reuters) — North Korea criticized a special multilateral sanctions monitoring team, calling its activities “illegal” and unrelated to the United Nations. The 11-nation team, including South Korea and the United States, aims to monitor Pyongyang's violations and circumvention of sanctions imposed by UN Security Council resolutions over its nuclear and missile programs. According to a press release from North Korea's permanent mission to the UN, reported by the Korean Central News Agency, the United States plans to hold a briefing at the organization's headquarters. The mission also stated that the group was “recklessly formed”.
