Official media in North Korea criticized the United States due to the nuclear submarine deal with Australia under the "AUKUS" partnership, which it described as a threat to regional peace.
The Korean Central News Agency pointed out in a commentary on its publication the necessity for the United States to reconsider the consequences of the nuclear alliances, referring to the "AUKUS" agreement and trilateral cooperation with South Korea and Japan.
In the context of the deal, Australia paid $500 million to the United States as part of a nuclear submarine purchase deal under the "AUKUS", and also pledged to pay $3 billion to enhance the American industrial capacity for submarines.
With this step, the United States and Australia faced criticism from North Korean media that viewed the deal as a threat to peace in the region, and called on Washington to reconsider engaging in such nuclear agreements.
These developments reflect the ongoing tensions and persistent threats in the region, along with a reshaping of alliances and regional balances, making the situation more complicated on the global stage.
