North Korea launched several artillery shells about an hour before Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's visit to the border separating it from South Korea, Seoul's military said Tuesday. According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, they recently detected "about 10 artillery shells fired toward the northern part of the West Sea," which is the name Seoul uses for the Yellow Sea. Pyongyang also fired similar shells just minutes before South Korean President's meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping last week, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said. The agency added that "South Korean and U.S. intelligence authorities are currently closely analyzing the details of the projectiles." Hegseth visited
